Recently at Che Argentine grill in Maboneng, there was a performance by an Argentinian legend of music – Manu Sija. As evening fell, a small and diverse crowd assembled, with candle light warming the souls of the patrons, the scent of good food in the air and an unknown legend in our midst we waited, our bodies aflame with curiosity. I had agreed to go, out of a desire to experience something new and exciting. Little did I know that I would be experiencing the gifts of a musical genius. I probably should have done some research into Manu Sija, a musician who seamlessly leaps from one instrument to the next laying down melody after melody and layering them into the most exquisite of musical confections. Over the course of the evening, I witnessed a display of mastery over no less than nine instruments. This man was the epitome of…

So my mom runs a bed and breakfast. It’s not the most consistent business, so when cash wears a little thin she tends to lower her prices or accept clients she usually wouldn’t. One such example is this 75-year-old, Jeffery (censoring the name because…). He’s stayed at my mom’s BnB before for about a month or so last year, but struggled to pay the full amount for the stay ( I think he paid like 80% of the quoted amount) Where it gets problematic is that he has the cash to pay, (he’s what would appear to be a free-lance engineer) he just blows it getting rekt at the country club down from where the BnB is located. Because of this, my mom wasn’t the keenest on having him back, but like I said when cash runs thin you gotta do what you gotta do. Anyway, so this guy has…

With the technology wave wiping us out and taking us with it, it is surprising just how many times people (boys – boys who should be men but are boys) manage to have mobile malfunctions in one day. Whether it be the ‘My battery died’ or the ‘I swear I replied babe it must have not sent’, the universally understood outcome is that you are standing in the rain whilst your suede trainers get proper fucked, your fingers fall the fuck off and your entire being sighs as your last shred of hope follows the sky pissing into a nearby drain. In these situations, when it becomes evident that man’s technological advances almost mirror the rapid decline in man’s capacity to function as a fucking human being, we must endeavour to regain our balance in this ever decaying society we find ourselves in. Say you’re trying to smoke a doob,…

Oh my God the amount of times I’ve read a Unilad Article based off a Reddit story and in the comments, I see “Her’s* bad journalism!”, “the dog’s*, Typical Unilad Journalism” and even more often than others, complaints about the content being incorrect or disproven. Guys, let me give this to you straight. Blogging isn’t fucking journalism. It’s disrespectful and demeaning to people who got into writing for the right reason and now just because these blogs have professionally looking sites you can group them into the same boat as these shitty bloggers writing sensationalist pieces for the sake of clickbait with absolutely zero substance. It’s like putting mustard in between two bread slices and eating it thinking “Hmm this is a really great burger”. It’s not a burger! And don’t complain when it doesn’t taste like a burger! Literally, anyone can start a blog – you are devaluing years and years of…
